Teaching one semester at CalArts. The semester is devoted to analyzing self-organizationalcase studies. Involving field trips, film screenings and the presentation of independent research in the class.
During the seminar the class will have to take action in smaller self-organized experiments. As a "start-up" for this the class held an open market on the CalArts campus, where students sold copied or modified versions of existing consumer products. The profits from this sale will be used to fund the students' group projects later on.

ONE MONTH RESEARCH IN AMAZON, BRAZIL.
Superflex had been invited by NIFCA, a São Paolo-based foundation called Extra Arte and the Amazonian government to undertake a research residency based in the town of Maués. Maués is in the central Amazon and, with a population of around 20,000, is the capital of the region of the same name, but the 100km journey from Manaus, the nearest city (famous to Europeans for its opera house, as seen in Herzog’s ‘Fitzcarraldo’, but best known in Brazil as an economic ‘free-zone’, its huge industrial parks home to firms like Toshiba, Samsung, or Benetton and the banks of the Amazon piled high with shipping containers marked for Tokyo or Hamburg), is possible only by taking a small plane or spending 22 hours on a riverboat. Maués is known in Brazil as the home of guaraná, a fruit whose caffeine-packed seeds are a luxury health-food product in Europe but in Brazil form the basis of some the country’s most popular soft drinks.

Social Pudding addresses the communities of Leipzig, with dynamic workshops and events focusing on the making and sharing of a plate of pudding. Participants are invited to come to the Pudding Social, to exchange and create their own pudding.
Rather than explore a fabric of society, Social Pudding is interested in the pudding of society, the convergence of social, business, personal and everyday activities.
The pudding product, a combination of distinct layers, consists of orange and coconut flavours. Social Pudding workshops have previously been held in Thailand.

The exhibition, We are all Sinners brings in to question the ways in which our cultural constructions make us perceive the notion of identity as a result of interactions and relationships established within a distinct social and political context."

TENANTSPIN MEETS FLUXUS.
Once again Tenantspin is on tour - this time visiting Germany. This community broadcasting project with Superflex and the Tenantspin channel are taking part in the International Network / Internationales Netzwerk exhibition, which is part of the Wiesbaden FLUXUS Festival starting on the 1st of September 2002.
Tenantspin will meet, discuss and exchange ideas with different community groups and individuals attending the exhibition from their temporary studio head-quarters. Tenantspin will be joined on tour by Rirkrit Tiravanija. You can follow the events online - watch out for the "FLUXUS" shows. Broadcasting period is 1st.-5th. September 2002. All show are being archived on Superchannel.org.

TENANTSPIN IN NEW YORK.
A four-day community broadcasting project with Superflex and the Tenantspin channel and community organizations in New York at the New Museum of Contemporary Art. The event is taking place at the New Museum of Contemporary Art where we have build up a small internet TV studio. The Tenantspin group will meet, discuss and exchange ideas with different elderly groups from New York. If you want to follow the events online go to the Teanantspin channel on www.superchannel.org and watch out for the "SPIN ON TOUR" shows. We will be broadcasting live on the following days - everything will be available in the archive after.

COUNTER-STRIKE / SELFORGANISE.
The game Counter-strike is about organising in Teams of 2-5. It is a TERROR VS. ANTI TERROR game. It is probably the most popular computer game at the moment especially among youngsters. At Rooseum there is free admission if you are under 16 years old.
Along with the game there is a cinema / video archive with documentaries and fiction films about social and political change, where people have organised themselves collectively in order to achieve their aims. There is currently a collection of 20 different films in the cinema. While not playing the game you can watch a movie from the video archive.
