Alice is a concept developed for FIVC, a new station which will be part of the upcoming Grand Paris Express railway network.

When visiting Paris in spring 2016, SUPERFLEX spotted an abandoned house with the drawing of a white rabbit on one of the walls. It was made by Alice, a seven year old girl previously living there - she and her family had to leave their home because of the new metro.

The similarities with the fairytale Alice in Wonderland are striking. SUPERFLEX has merged reality and fiction; the construction site and its surrounding area are seen as a possible Rabbit Hole and Wonderland. SUPERFLEX created a way finding system as well as installations that suggest the illusion of a twisted reality.

SUPERFLEX is currently collaborating closely with the inhabitants in order to develop a “bank of memory objects” that will later form the floor of the permanent station.
