Credits — Three Flies Staring at Each Other (on a Glass of Water) is exactly what the title says it is—fastidious replicas of three different houseflies perched on the rim of a glass of water, staring at each other. Flies do many things, but of course they don’t stay still and stare each other in the eyes. The sculpture presents an impossible relationship between three creatures who don’t engage in the kind of intense unidirectional looking that humans associate with curiosity, anger, or passion. The glass of water becomes a stage for a highly artificial insect drama. SUPERFLEX
